A Legacy Isn't Built Overnight — It Takes Time. 80 Years to be Exact.
Welcome to Charles Krug, Napa Valley's oldest winery, established in 1861, and the home of California's first wine tasting room. Since its founding by Charles Krug, a pioneer and visionary, this winery has continued to contribute significantly to the world of wine. Our story starts 80 years ago in 1943, when The Mondavi Family purchased the winery and vowed to continue Krug's legacy of visionary thinking and innovation. To this day, five generations later, the family remains committed to the stewardship of this iconic place, and to those principals.
When you visit our estate winery, you'll enter our driveway, and follow the olive trees lining the vineyards to our tasting room, located in our historic Redwood Cellar. There, you'll be offered a variety of curated tasting experiences, all detailed below. If you do not have time for a full experience, and would like to simply enjoy our beautiful space, we offer wines for purchase to enjoy at your leisure.
While outside-food and picnicking are not permitted, we do offer a cheese and charcuterie board as an add-on option.

TASTING EXPERIENCES
ESTATE TASTING | $50 PER GUEST
Join us as you taste through a variety of our current release, small lot wines. During this experience, we will share our stories and winemaking traditions inside our Historical Redwood Cellar. You’re welcome to elevate your visit by adding a barrel sample, or, if you’re feeling hungry, pre-reserve a cheese and charcuterie plate, available daily. From Thursday through Sunday, you can also enjoy our delectable wood-fired pizzas, which may be ordered and enjoyed during your experience.
- This experience is a Pre-Paid Reservation with a 24 hour cancellation policy.
- Children and Non-Tasters are welcome with a $10 fee for each guest over the age of 2 years old. This fee includes a Non-Alcoholic beverage of their choice.
- Wine Club Members receive 4 complimentary Estate tastings with every visit, on top of the wine purchase savings of 20%.

CABERNET CONNOISSEUR TASTING | $75 PER GUEST
If you’re a true Cabernet Sauvignon aficionado, or simply curious about the meaning of “terroir”, this is the perfect experience. During this 60-minute seated tasting, you’ll explore how vineyard sites shape a wine’s flavors and aromas. You’ll enjoy four exquisite, limited-production estate Cabernet Sauvignons, the varietal our family has been crafting since 1944. You’re welcome to elevate your visit by adding a barrel sample, or, if you’re feeling hungry, pre-reserve a cheese and charcuterie plate, available daily. TOUR AND TASTING | $90 PER GUEST
Trace the history of winemaking with a guided tour of our beautiful, historic estate. Your 90-minute experience begins with a short walk to one of our estate vineyards, where you’ll get up close to the vines and soak in the stunning views. You’ll then enjoy an indoor, seated tasting of four signature, current-release Napa Valley wines, paired with a gourmet cheese and charcuterie plate.

CULINARY EXPERIENCES
CHOCOLATE & WINE PAIRING | $90 PER GUEST
Indulge in the harmony of chocolate and wine in this seated, 60-minute experience. During this session, you will enjoy five different small-production wines, paired with exquisitely flavored chocolate. Each hand-painted, locally crafted piece is custom-made to pair with our wines by Chef and Chocolatier Holly Peterson at Flourish Chocolate in Calistoga. See how rich, velvety chocolate with mouth-watering fillings can meet and even enhance the nuanced elegance of our limited-production wines.

CAVIAR & WINE PAIRING | $150 PER GUEST
Savor our Italian Calvisius Caviar, exclusively hand-selected for Charles Krug, expertly paired with our exclusive, small-lot sparkling and white wines. This experience features over 30 grams of caviar, along with classic accompaniments and a few playful twists and surprises.

OUTDOOR PRIVATE CABANA
Available daily in two-hour blocks, reserve one of our private cabanas. Groups from 2 to 12 guests may enjoy a relaxing time amongst history with tasting flights or even by the glass and full-bottle selections to delicious culinary fare, we will tailor a custom experience just for you.
Parties of 2-6 guests: $400 minimum spend in food & wine (Wine Club Members: $320)
Parties of 7-12 guests: $800 minimum spend in food & wine (Wine Club Members: $640)
