Voltz Vineyard

As we move southwest of Yountville where the valley slopes slightly upward to the base of the Mayacamas Mountain Range, the temperature drops three to five degrees. Here Voltz Vineyard sits on an alluvial fan which is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Syrah and Cabernet Franc. The location of this vineyard with its rocky soil stresses the vines, producing a more complex, intensely flavored wine.
