Can I host my wedding or event at the winery?
The historical Carriage House can seat up to 150 people and the adjoining spacious lawn area can accommodate 1000 people with a minimum of 100 people for space reservations. The lawn area is available for use the first week-end in May through the second week-end of October. Events may be held between the hours of 9:00am and 9:30pm, with a maximum time allowed of 6 hours.
Where do I find Charles Krug wines in my state?
We distribute to every state in the country and our distributors welcome your inquiries to locate the nearest store near you that carry the Charles Krug brand. Our Napa Valley wines are often found in supermarkets featuring fine wine sections and specialty wine stores while our Family Reserve wines may be seen on many fine dining wine lists. You may also email us with your name, address, phone number and email address with the particular varietal and vintage you are seeking and we will reply in a timely manner.
I have a bottle(s) of older vintage Charles Krug wine. When is it best to drink, what is it's value?
Depending on how wines are stored and the intrinsic quality of the wine when it was originally blended can affect how a wine ages and how well it will drink. Wines that have leaky capsules are almost certainly faded beyond their peak. If your wine has been kept in a hot closet, its quality can also be compromised. We at Charles Krug suggest that if your wine has been cellared for ten years or more, you might want to drink it now. Please let us know if you have opened and enjoyed an older vintage.
When is it best to visit the Napa Valley?
Visiting the Napa Valley when the vineyards are at their optimum growth is an exciting time with seasonably pleasant temperature. August and September can, however, be dramatically different in temperature with high and low temperatures ranging from 100+°F to 38°F. There is unparallel beauty in the Valley at any time, with the soft, rolling hillsides dotted with cattle, oak trees and manicured vines. Once the grapes are picked, the vines shut down and the shimmering oranges, reds and bright greens explode through the leaves. Early spring can bring on many intermittent showers but the beauty of budbreak and the first flowering on the vines signals the excitement of the growing season ahead.
