Once again we'll host the Wine Country Corvette Club, showcasing some of the amazing cars owned by folks in Wine Country. All the dads will also be presented with a Charles Krug T-Shirt. The Tasting Room is part of a continuing legacy – Charles Krug himself opened the first tasting room in California in 1882. The Winery property is bisected by train tracks that recall an era when Napa Valley fruit was shipped to the east coast for home winemakers during Prohibition. The historic, newly restored Redwood Cellar, built in 1872 (National Register of Historical Landmarks #563), is across from our picnic area. The renovated interior houses our state-of-the-art barrel room for our Family Reserve wines where we also hold intimate barrel tastings by reservation. Behind the cellar lies the Carriage House (circa 1881) built for Charles Krug's wife, Carolina, to house her beloved horses. Today, the elegant exterior restoration is augmented by a spectacular second story event center. The sprawling Great Lawn is adjacent to it and is the home to our annual Tastings on the Lawn.
